About the Role

Our nonprofit organization is seeking a peer counselor to provide support and guidance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have a personal experience with mental health challenges and the ability to offer empathy, understanding, and insight to those seeking help. you will be responsible for assisting students with academic, personal, and social issues, providing guidance and advice about college and career paths, and developing and implementing programs to promote student success.


  • Personal experience with mental health challenges

  • Strong communication skills and ability to offer empathy and understanding to others

  • Knowledge of resources and services available to individuals with mental health concerns

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect boundaries

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

  • Strong problem-solving abilities
